ABOUT THE PROJECT

BOWEL CANCER SCREENING ATTITUDES

Bowel cancer is one of the most commonly occurring cancers in older Australians. There are a few screening tests available that aim to detect pre-cancerous or cancerous lesions, and we're interested in learning about the different types of feelings and thoughts that can deter people from being tested.

What do patients think and feel when they consider getting screened for this particular cancer? Some of the scales in our survey, for example, will ask how you feel in certain medical situations and settings, and what you think about cancer screening effectiveness.

This project is being conducted as part of a PhD degree, and we're seeking Australians aged 35 or older to complete an anonymous questionnaire about what may prevent or motivate them to undertake cancer screening, now or in the future. All volunteer respondents are sincerely appreciated, and the time that you choose to donate to this research is very important to us. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries about this project.
